Could be Feb. * Spot scanning may not be necessary, can do many things with passive scattered. * KL: Energy too low to passively scatter. * KL: For microbeams: * Ideally like to get back to laser target spot size. ~70 micron. * Other people do few hundred microns width beams. * Discussion re fixing spot size for spot scanning. * Choose 100 micron spot size for scanning. * System updates * Capture. * Summary of discussion on 20th Dec. * Calculations from Colin on differential pumping. * Prelim calculations show can have 2 orders of magnitude pressure differential. * Need to include investigating this experimentally into the R&D plan. * CW spoke to Bob Bingham who is interested in the lens. * Beam transport * BDSIM model updated to include all features. Most of Stage 2 parts are there only as placeholders, waiting for physics design to be finalised. * Looked at countering space charge by neutralising more at the start to improve transmission. * Include phase rotation/bunch compression RF cavities. * JPas: I can provide bunch length at extraction and energy spread. * JPoz: I can then work out voltages and drifts. * End stations * Going over floor plan. * Second end station will be incorporated. * WS to send JPar snapshot of beamline. * Meeting with Birmingham re FLASH irradiations. They will set up a FLASH R&D facility and hope to start irradiations end of Jan to early Feb. * AK: Have they done anything on dosimetry. * Not yet. * KL: Tim Greenshaw is giving a seminar in Birmingham. * AOB * Schedule and costing from KL. * KL to circulate the project and request WPMs to update their parts. * JPas: deadline for APAC on 9th. * IOP HEPP and PAB meetings, need to submit abstract by 24th Jan. == Action items == * WS to send JPar snapshot of beamline.
