Agenda

  1. Hardware discussion:

Discussed need for slight quad rotation similar to LMU or electron exp at SCAPA, agreed to discuss with both LMU/SCAPA electron team. Powered mounting system was considered to control from outside the vacuum chamber- discussion of price of mounts vs price of lost beam time to stop the exp, adjust manually and restart. Beam Monitoring raised- thin 20um plastic scintillator to monitor.

  1. Radiobiology discussion:

Risk assessment being completed. Discussion of automated carousel to rotate through multiple samples, glass rings to be used with mylar on and lids to seal. Experiment to look at ultra-high dose rates if possible with SCAPA beam, using cell lines such as FaDu or HeLa that have been previously responsive. Clonogenics (survival measure) is to be the measure of the biological response in initial experiments as standard practice.

  1. AOB:

Proposed increasing bandwidth for dose rate increase & allow for UHDR experiments, looking at larger collimator apertures etc.
