  • Laser
    • Input beam produced by HTL. Try to get OE to take a look and ask about progress with 3D simulations.
  • Capture
    • JPo: Will get different focal points for both solenoids and Gabor lens when using a beam with an energy spread.
    • JPas: will calculate electric field matrix for Gabor lens.
    • CW: more work on electric field modelling. Looking at breakdown, current design should be resistant.
    • CW: differential pumping calculations updated now have 3 orders of magnitude pressure drop. Need to get input from the laser guys.
    • CW to circulate document.
  • Beam transport
    • JPas has updated the stage 1 lattice.
    • Simulation files have been updated to include 5cm without space charge and 5cm with space charge and then run in BDSIM and GPT.
    • Rebunching cavities for stage 1:
      • 1st cavity is for phase rotation.
      • Collimator between lenses 3 and 4.
      • 2nd is for rebunching after lens 4. (to rotate and shorten bunch).
  • R&D plan due in 2 weeks. AK will circulate the Initial draft.

Action items

  • Discuss input beam with OE and GH.
  • JPas to calculate electric field matrix for Gabor lens.
  • CW to circulate document on laser capture interface.
  • AK to circulate initial draft of project plan.
