• FFA Meeting Agenda
  • TJK only attendee with time constraints. JP to give two talks, one on current status, the other on identified issues going forward. WS current restructuring the agenda. Morngin will be present status, afternoon will be issues & plan.

• PoPLaR
  • Ross away, effort needed for CAD for PoPLaR experiment. CAD model screen shared. Discussion followed on PMQ alignment & potential for attraction if in close proximity. 100 KG of force is estimated if in close proximity which must be avoided (safety, e.g. avoid accidental crushing of fingers). Mounting solution needed. Robbie to share files/link with CH.

• Engineering
  • No updates.

• Simulation
  • WS: New injection line model in BDSIM. Good optical agreement with MADX. GPT model still in development. Slides below. Potential positions of collimation system identified. Updated spreadsheet will be sent to CH when angled shielding wall is included in straight section.
  • MP: Working on field map generation in GPT. Comparing tracking residuals to BDSIM. WS & MP to discuss offline.
  • TJK: Showed 2D field map of 1/4 of the FFA ring. Field leakage at the edge of the clamps apparent. Investigation still ongoing.
  • JP: Revisited cavity design, solution believed to be found with cavity 20cm long. Investigation still ongoing.

• AOB
  • WS: IPAC abstract accepted. TJK paper accepted, waiting on student grant confirmation. HO suggested applying to IOP for travel money.
