Agenda
- Minutes and actions:
- JP: Consumables plan
- Stands
- Strathclyde Phase 1: CD, ED
Slides- Technical Note updated. (Will be on the wiki and here by the end of the day).
- Simulation CD, DA:
- CD Recreated RCF with a combination of LLO and Geant4. Simulations match well with experiment RCF, though some discrepancy is noted at higher energies. The suggested reason is an inaccurate energy dependence of the divergence.
- CD investigated a more uniform beam via shifting the quadrupole positions. By defocussing the beam can achieve more uniformity however, the general structure remains, so some cells will always see more dose than others.
- DA used TOPAS to investigate creating a more uniform beam. Found that by increasing the distance from the Mylar window a more uniform beam can be achieved but at a reduced average dose. Structure is circular with less dose at the edges.
- DA to investigate of the effect of increasing the mylar thickness.
- Beam Diagnostics KL, CD:
KL slides- KL outlined an idea for a sparse SciFi. General agreement that a constant in-beam diagnostic would be useful.
- KL to work towards a prototype for testing along with Chris Armstrong from RAL. RAL could loan a camera for this testing (with a desire to use a beam diagnostic like this for themselves).
- Peter Hobson agreed to support the camera work and focussing.
- The holder can be 3D printed.
- Limited round fibres, but can utilise an abundance of square fibres. Can test canes vs coils and tensions and printing the fibres after a first prototype is tested.
- MH to pass on the CAD for the cell carousel to CD for help in designing the RCF holder.
- KL outlined an idea for a sparse SciFi. General agreement that a constant in-beam diagnostic would be useful.
- BioPrep EM, JP:
Slides- EM outlined dress rehearsal plan for dry run:
- Hoods need to be checked if they are serviced - Colin will check.
- Jason consumables plan to be checked.
- Incubator needs to be switched on 2 days before visit.
- Autoclave has to be in place for waste
- Date of run between 15th-29th Sept - requires further discussion between Birmingham/SCAPA
- EM outlined dress rehearsal plan for dry run:
- DoNM
- 4th September
- AoB
- Still some straggling calendar invites of old meetings.
