SmartPhantom meeting: Thursday 29^th August 2019, 11:00 BST

Notes:

1. Notes and actions from last meeting:
   • KL: Liaise to develop concept for polishing.
     • Keep until resolved.
   • AK: Prepare paperwork necessary to gain permission to work with source in 527.
     • Keep until resolved.

2. Baseline schedule and progress against schedule: KL/HTL
   The schedule was discussed and updated (see updated schedule). Principal outstanding design issues now are the potting jigs.

3. Mechanical design/manufacture update: LC
   All components required for winding are now in hand. Additional fishing line (0.26mm) has been purchased to allow a full station to be prototyped with fishing line. This will rehearse the proceedures.

HT will travel to RAL later today to begin assembly and to attempt to wind the first layers.

Still awaiting clear fibre delivery.

4. Control system and SciWire readout update: AK
   No report this week as AK is on leave. Item left for future reference.

5. Simulation/analysis update: HTL
   No update this week.

6. Next steps
   We agreed that the goal for the next two weeks would be to:
   1. Complete first prototype station and cleaar-fibre light-guides using fishing line. Leads: HTL, LC
   2. Complete first full readout system from camera to images on disk. JB emphased the benefit of digitising light from fibres as soon as possible. Leads: AK, JB

We agreed that KL would check whether there was enough money to buy another 150mm stage. This would reduce the issues in the control and set-up of the scanning rig.

Given the agreed schedule defined above, it may be that the winding jig may not be ready to be shipped as presently foreseen on the 05Sep19. KL will let D.Loader know that the other equipment may have to be sent without the SmartPhantom stuff.
