• Engineering
  • CH went over the slides from the meeting 2 weeks ago. Discussed the questions on Clive's slides.
  • JP had meeting with RAL group last week.
    • BPM should be no more than 10cm in length.
    • Elements (including the RF cavity) can be tilted wrt to the radial direction without any significant effect.
  • TJK: New design of the magnet has an increased spiral angle and the field index has decreased. Will have an impact on the space available.
  • Discussion re how the design will change and how to present this in the CDR.
  • CH showed an FEA simulation of the vacuum chamber and areas of increased deflection.
    • Centre of the chamber needs to be strengthened.

  • WS: ongoing studies using the beam produced by Ken's code.
