     • Expert communicators.
     • European technology network, and, in consultation with IMcN, colleagues in FOM at Imperial.
   • Different versions need to be prepared for, e.g.:
     • "Public"/lay audience;

     • Funding agency personnel/Institute (Imperial, Oxford) leads

We agreed:

• Update to take into account PP comments;
• Proceed to take advice on current draft as above;
• Proceed to develop different versions for various audiences as above;
• Add "pictures" where appropriate and add a timeline.

3. Support for IMcN 10 min presentation to CRUK on 26Jun23: CJ, All

   Key underlying messages, to help focus discussion:
   • improving clinical outcomes
   • radiobiology at cellular level, currently unchartered territory
   • innovation happens at disciplinary interfaces
   • already started
   • collaborative with international partners

Notes from our discussion:

• Need intro slide on science that will be addressed and why protons/ions are different to other sources of radiation. Need to emphasise, e.g.:
  • High LET; ions vs protons;
  • Flexibility of novel source; ion species, time, space, and energy distributions;
  • Different mechanisms for cell damage, different stimulation of immune response. Perhpas include "mean distance between ionising events" plot;
  • Mini/micro beams and biological excitement; (space and time structure of beam).
• Critical to get Amato i/p (action KL). Need to gather set of presentations on wiki for reference (action KL).
• Critical to get input from Yolanda and some of her slides (action KL).

5. CIO submission: KL, All
   Stalled again, will need biographical information for trustees ... take forward separately
